Lexa Willen Newberry is a family law attorney serving Comal, Guadalupe, and Hays counties. She joined the firm, now known as James & Newberry, in 2022 after practicing in the Dallas–Fort Worth area for several years. Her work includes divorce, modifications, original suits affecting the parent-child relationship, adoption, and all other family law related matters.
Lexa enjoys getting to know her clients personally, so that they can work together to achieve client goals in a way that benefits each client and their family. She is very people-oriented and client-focused, as well as experienced in negotiating and representing clients in court. She understands that there is no “one size fits all” method in family law and focuses on tailoring case strategy to each individual client.
Lexa grew up in a small West Texas town. She attended Texas A&M University in College Station, where she earned her degree in communication in three years. She then attended Texas Tech University School of Law in Lubbock.
After law school, Lexa spent her first year practicing family law at the Wright Reneau Law Firm in New Braunfels. She later moved to Dallas, where she practiced family law with The Law Offices of Amber Shemesh.
Lexa returned to New Braunfels in 2022 with her husband and fellow attorney, Jeff Newberry. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and the Comal County Bar Association. Outside the office, Lexa enjoys spending time with her family and her miniature dachshunds, Heidi and Harper. She also enjoys traveling and being outdoors.
